After living in our current home for almost two years, I can finally say that the guest room is complete! Check out this eclectic and colorful guest room reveal.
Hello my friend! I am very excited to report that we finally have a fully finished guest room. I have a lot of pictures and details for you. There is a full list of sources at the bottom of this post for you 🙂
If you’re a regular here, you know I originally started giving our guest room a makeover before we moved into our house. We painted the walls Sherwin Williams Pure White The rug was replaced with hardwoods to match the rest of the house right before we moved in. This alone was a huge turnaround from how this room started (see below).
But then it remained stagnant for some time. We didn’t even have a bed since we used the bed from The guest room in our old house in Avery’s new bedroomlol.
Finally last November I needed to do something to prepare the place for my mother-in-law’s visit. So we made this really cool DIY headboard with customizable letters (One of my favourites DIY projects ever), added a great run, bought a mattress and platform bed, Cabinet repainted To better fit the space and even hang some artwork. It was a huge improvement! But it certainly isn’t over.

Well guys, finally I’m finally done with this space! Let’s take a look at what still needs to happen:
- The empty space above the bed should be processed in such a way that it does not compete with the headboard itself.
- The room needed some special lighting so the overhead pendant lamp wasn’t the only lighting option.
- The room needed a little more attention to the fabric and some plants (always plants, lol).
So this is what I decided to do:
Requested These candlesticks are really cheap for hanging over the bedYou can find many of my favorite candlesticks here). This served two purposes. First, it will serve as a much-needed accent lighting. Second, I knew it would help fill the empty space above the bed without competing with the gorgeous headboard. We did not fix the candlesticks. Instead, I used This lights spiral imp which are turned on and off using the remote control.

I played about what I hang above the bed and between the sconce. I quickly decided that: 1) I wanted it to be a photo and not an art print and 2) it had to be tall and rectangular in shape. After brainstorming, I decided to get a panoramic photo I took of Joe and the girls on our vacation this summer. used Frambridge For the first time it was the perfect solution. This was not sponsored or gifted by the way. I loved that I was able to fully customize the final size and frame and was able to add the nicest custom panel to the bottom of the frame. It’s one of my favorite things in the room! This is the exact frame you requested.

I also added this Barn Pottery Lamp To the painted cabinet for another lighting option. This lamp is very affordable and good.
Last but not least, I brought some extra interest in the fabric by hanging some pretty embroidered pieces my late grandmother made on a small section of the wall between the closet and the guest bathroom. I moved too this basket From our family room, but I’m not sure if he would stay here or not. I like the idea of a big basket here, but I think a basket with fewer colors would look a lot better here.

And of course I added plants 🙂
