the Maharashtra Housing and District Development Authority (MHADA) Directed by Bombay High Court on 21st March 2023 to file Certificate of Occupancy (OC) for Rehabilitation and Free Sale Component Buildings in Patra Saul and Siddharth Nagar Redevelopment Project in Goregaon. Whereas the previous deadline for awarding OC was 5th April 2023, the Bombay High Court while issuing a clarification on 27th March 2023, indicated an extension of the deadline till 10th April 2023, TOI a report.
This ruling is a respite for the 672 tenants and 1,700 homebuyers who purchased salable component units in Patra Chawl Goregaon. The homebuyers had booked the apartments in 2012 and were supposed to have them by 2016. Because of the need for intellectual property, they staged protests several times, with the latest protests being in February 2023 and December 2022 and September 2022.
In terms of the free sale component, two of the three towers constructed by Ekta Everglade Homes are complete and awaiting OC. The other parts are in different parts of the build.
