The newly selected practices will compete to deliver both small and specialist projects such as small new build sites, renovations and conversions for NHG. The brief also covers commercial fit-out and marketing stand design, according to the client, a major housing association.
In total, more than 150 companies now belong to it development framework. The latest group of emerging practices has been selected with the aim of promoting practices owned or run by people from diverse backgrounds.
Notable architects such as Hawkins\Brown, Haworth Tompkins, Glenn Howells Architects, and WestonWilliamson + Partners are already in the works at plenty of Architects General.
Notable practices within the NHG framework now include established firms such as Hayhurst, RCKa and Sergison Bates Architects, along with smaller firms such as Architecture Doing Place, Gbolade Design Studio, Freehaus, Satish Jassal Architects, Studio Multi and Studio Gil.

John Hughes, NHG Group Development Director, said: “The framework membership has a greater level of diversity than we’ve achieved before. We want the companies we work with to reflect the communities in which we operate.
He added, “We look forward to working with our partners within the framework to reimagine the quality of the homes we offer and together build a better place.”

NHG plans to build 7,000 new homes in the Greater London area over the next five years. The Housing Association already operates 67,500 homes across the capital and the Southeast, making it one of the largest providers of social housing in the country.
The housing association says the development framework runs for four years until 2026, at which point it may be extended for another year or two. Registered housing providers and local authorities can purchase through them.
